We act as a booking agent for inbound Finnish suppliers of holiday accommodation and other services. Please read these booking conditions carefully as you will be bound by them.
Your contract is with the suppliers of the services, your booking is subject to the suppliers' terms and conditions. As we are acting as agents for these suppliers, we accept no liability for any failure in the services or any loss of any nature suffered by you as a consequence of using the services.
You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts in any matters that fall within the scope of the agency responsibility of Lapland a la Carte.
When you make a booking you confirm that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms and conditions set out below. A booking can only be made by a person aged 18 years or over.
Please note that all bookings are subject to the suppliers' conditions of booking. These contain limitations and exclusions of liability to any person who travels with them. They should be read carefully as you are bound by them. We will ask you to confirm your agreement to these terms.
The suppliers reserve the right to change itineraries and details. We will endeavour to inform you of such changes, but do not accept any responsibility for such changes.
Our liability to you
Our obligations, and those of our suppliers providing any service or facility, are to take reasonable skill and care to arrange for the provision of such services and facilities. You must show that reasonable skill and care has not been used if you wish to make a claim. Standards of, for example, safety, hygiene and quality vary throughout the transport and destinations that your holiday may involve. Sometimes these standards will be lower than those which would be expected to be found in the UK. The services and facilities purchased from our suppliers will be deemed to be provided with reasonable skill and care if they comply with any local regulations which apply.
For claims which do not involve death or personal injury, we accept, and will only have, liability should we or our suppliers fail to satisfy the obligations detailed above. If we have liability we will pay you reasonable compensation ( limited to 3 times the value of your Lapland Extra) if your enjoyment of the tour is adversely affected.
For claims which involve death or personal injury as a result of an activity forming part of a Lapland Extra, we accept, and will only have liability should we or our suppliers fail to satisfy the obligations detailed above.
We shall have no liability where the cause of the failure to provide, or failure in a Lapland Extra for any death or personal injury you may suffer is not due to any fault on our part or that of our servants, agents or suppliers, because it is either attributable to you, or attributable to someone unconnected with your Lapland Extra and is unforeseeable or unavoidable, or is due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an event which neither we, nor our servants, agents or suppliers could have foreseen or forestalled.
We do not sell package holidays, we act only as an agent for the service provider concerned and you contract for the service arrangement is directly with the service provider(s).
Making Your Payment
All arrangements are subject to availability at the time the booking is made. Your booking will be definite once initial payment has been made and a confirmation has been sent. The initial amount payable will be dependent upon the proximity of the booking date to the date of departure. You will be asked to pay the deposit required by the contracted supplier(s), plus insurance costs (where applicable). You are reminded that should you choose to cancel, you will be liable for any additional administration fees levied the supplier. The person making the initial booking guarantees payment to Lapland a la Carte of the total amount due on behalf and with the consent of all other persons who are party to the booking.
Unless otherwise agreed, all balances must be paid in full to the supplier(s) at least 12 weeks before the date of departure. Payment may be made by any of the following methods: Delta or Switch; credit card (visa or mastercard); cheque or postal order. No charge is made for payment by Switch or Delta debit cards, however credit card payments will incur a 1.5% surcharge. Cheques should be made payable to Lapland a la Carte. Payment should be made in pounds sterling.
Prices and website accuracy
Every effort is made to provide as much information as possible on our website and to ensure this information is accurate. Regrettably however changes and errors do occasionally occur. We cannot accept liability for errors on this website. Please ensure you check prices and availability at the time of booking.
Documents are normally supplied 14 days prior to departure. If you do not receive your documents 7 days before departure please contact us using the contact details provided below. Please check your documents carefully upon receipt, and advise us immediately of any error. If you have any further queries, please contact our Customer Services Dept on 0845 092 0363.
It is a condition of booking with every Supplier that you must have adequate insurance to ensure that you are adequately covered against unexpected cancellation charges prior to your Lapland Extra activity and events occurring during your Lapland Extra activity.
If you cancel your booking
Your booking can be cancelled subject to payment of cancellation charges which will be levied by the suppliers. The level of cancellation charge payable is dependent upon how far in advance of the Lapland Extra activity date you cancel your booking. Please see the relevant Suppliers terms and conditions for details of these charges.
In the event of cancellation, any charges maybe recovered by your insurance. Please check your insurance policy for more information.
Alterations to your booking by the supplier
Unfortunately we cannot control or prevent changes implemented by our suppliers. Should a change occur we will endeavour to minimise the inconvenience you may experience. We cannot however offer any compensation. Again, please refer to the booking conditions of the supplier.
If you have a complaint regarding any part of your booking, please contact the supplier of the service in question at the earliest opportunity. Any complaint letters sent to us on your return at Elmbank House, Shore Road, Clynder, G84 0QD will be directed to the relevant supplier responsible for providing you booked arrangements.
